|Winter Diversions 2015 timetable v1 07/03/2015 at 14:30 #69874|
Available to download
This is a weekday Winter 2015 SSuX timetable for NE Scotland, however due to the wintery Highland weather, the Highland Mainline (Perth - Inverness) is closed due to snow, and the Tay Bridge is closed due to high winds.
DO NOT play this timetable in the 'Tay Bridge' mode. Feel free however to run it in more difficult modes!
Effect on trains:
ScotRail: Most Edinburgh - Dundee semi-fast services terminate at Leuchars. They then pull forward to reverse north of the station and return south.
Edinburgh - Aberdeen fast services are diverted via Perth.
Glasgow/Edinburgh - Inverness services terminate at Perth.
Caledonian Sleeper: The Aberdeen portion is diverted via Stirling. The Inverness portion terminates at Perth and runs ECS to/from Polmadie.
East Coast: London - Aberdeen services are diverted via Stirling. The Highland Chieftain terminates at Perth and runs ECS to/from Craigentinny.
CrossCountry: All services cancelled.
Freight: Diverted as required.
Due to the nature of the timetable some artistic license has been necessary. For example, platform allocations and operations at Perth are a lot busier than usual, though evening shunting (wash & fuel) operations haven't been simulated in this version. Also, throughout the timetable class allocations are not necessarily 100% accurate.
The diversions cause the Ladybank branch and Hilton Junction areas to get quite busy, attention is required here. In addition, they cause Edinburgh - Aberdeen trains to be delayed by up to 30-40 minutes. The signaller at Aberdeen should decide whether these trains should continue north to Dyce and Inverurie, or terminate at Aberdeen to recover time.
Also, note that due to a sim bug, trains terminating at Stonehaven shunt south before returning to Aberdeen and do not use the north crossover.
Comments, issues and suggestions are welcome in this thread. Thanks for playing!
Dedicated with thanks to the North Sea family.
