I wish there was a simulation of Tyne and Wear Metro lines. It would be epic.
Class 150/2 approaching towards Welshpool. Wrong train you got, only 158's are fitted with ERTMS.

Sadly true, as I can testify as a long suffering fan.

For accuracy, and in no way for apostrophic pedantry, the station is "St James" and the football ground is "St James' Park".

The direction of the escalators on the Metro station go both up and down at the moment unlike the football team which seems to be stuck in one direction only unfortunately....I will leave the reader to decide which..

The Conflict of Interest, as listed in the Wiki, applies to Tyneside IECC and not Gosforth control centre:

http://www.SimSig.co.uk/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=usertrack:faq:areas_that_can_not_be_simulated

Even so, the conflict of interest doesn't seem to be as hard-and-fast as it once was- LTS, Leeds and Rugby used to be on it, but simulations have since been made of those areas.

I thought Tyneside IECC controlled the metro as well... I apologise.
Yes, I do suppose that regs are being relaxed on 'boxes.
And, just a quick question: can someone explain to me how Slough IECC has a CoI if it doesn't even exist anymore?

If I understand it correctly that's to do with where the information originally came from.

Geoff was (I suspect still is?) party to a great deal of signalling-related information in connection with his day job. He received/s it under a Non-Disclosure Agreement. It would be ideal for turning into a sim but that would be considered a disclosure and his job would be at risk.

Initially, all IECCs were regarded as a conflict of interest. Marylebone was a special case in that the source of the information was not the usual (I believe it was Chiltern Railways rather than Network Rail but stand to be corrected) and they gave specific permission for it to be released as a sim; in fact one of their people was on the forum giving the professional view of how things were as well as helping support the launch. It has also been possible for others to source the information independently to be able to create IECC sims (I think Edinburgh was the first?) but in this case, if I understand correctly, it is a requirement that the sim writer can prove their independent source for all the information they have that goes in to writing the sim.

Even though Slough no longer exists as a separate IECC, parts of the signalling most certainly remain in service and therefore Geoff's original information would be relevant. I suspect that, even if there were to be a complete resignalling, the NDA would remain operative. Unless someone can source the necessary information and - presumably - provide an audit trail so the independence of the source can be proven, Slough IECC remains off the agenda (unless the NDA were to be renegotiated, but I think NR have rather more on their plate at the moment than a popular and realistic signalling sim).

That's pretty much it.

With regards to Slough New IECC, though the desks are now in Thames Valley, as far as the CoI goes it's the same. As noted, we do sometimes simulate areas that were previously under a CoI but situations change and I'm not always at liberty to discuss why they change. Just be happy that it does get relaxed from time to time!
