I'd like to propose the reintroduction of the 'Karma' option. While I think I understand the reasons why it was removed or disabled it did provide users with the option to indicate positive or negative views about any topics and/or comments without adding text. The addition of text can be more inflammatory and can potentially lead to threads getting out of control. If this isn't possible/desirable then perhaps one of the Moderators can ask 'enthusiastic' users to 'moderate' the frequency of posts and shouts, otherwise we might need to have two distinct sections of the forum going forward. One for the self publicists in our community and one for those who like a more sedate life where they can enjoy a read of the forum or multi play session in their slippers drinking cocoa. Blimey, i'd forgotten about that Karma function. How long ago was that now? I guess if people have a strong enough opinion/ want an argument, then they'll comment regardless of a Karma button or not! Log in to reply |
