i have had reinstall the loader and have tried to download Kings cross sim but keep getting a security risk which is

Category: Resolved Security Risks
Date & Time,Risk,Activity,Status,Recommended Action,Path - Filename
19/12/2015 15:02:30,High,kingsx_v3_3a.tmp (SAPE.Heur.B0CE3) detected by Auto-Protect,Quarantined,Resolved - No Action Required,c:\users\dave\appdata\local\temp\is-j787k.tmp\kingsx_v3_3a.tmp

or this is from the waterloo sim on loader

Category: Resolved Security Risks
Date & Time,Risk,Activity,Status,Recommended Action,Path - Filename
19/12/2015 12:20:47,High,waterloo4_2.tmp (SAPE.Heur.B0CE3) detected by Auto-Protect,Quarantined,Resolved - No Action Required,c:\users\dave\appdata\local\temp\is-3j7nm.tmp\waterloo4_2.tmp

I have downloaded sims that are not on the loader and they work fine

SAPE.Heur.B0CE3 is saying it a high security risk

any ideas

Sounds like another false positive from Norton.

I'd suggest anything from telling Norton to ignore that file to disabling it whilst you install to removing it completely and going with something better.

That's the second SAPE.Heur.B0CE3 I've heard about this week, and both times on exes that have been public for a fairly long time. Since viruses don't magically jump into signed executables I'd agree with Ben that Norton has gone from defcon3 to "run about like a headless and clueless chicken" mode.

Once we get one or two issues with the Refresher sorted out, hopefully problems like Norton will be less of an issue with sims downloaded directly rather than using an exe installer.

Do I wait for the refresher or get rid of Norton and revert back to AVG

Or just disable Norton while you are running a SimSig download?

I'd get rid of Norton and not go back to AVG as they are seemingly selling your data
