Hi all, I have been playing Wolverhampton for a few months now, and whilst I love the simulation, I would quite like to try something a bit different! I'd like to try a sim a bit more challenging and complex, but at the same time, keeping it as small (in terms of width) as possible, as I like to have all the sim I am controlling viewable across my two monitors, which I can manage with WVH. Does anybody have any reccommendations on simulations I should try, be it payware or freeware? Regards, Brick60000 Log in to reply |

The old freeware Euston is small but challenging. Just make you read the manual properly, especially the references to 'via' buttons.

Portsmouth is a good single screen Sim. If you want a challenge run it with delays and theres a good bit of replatforming and regulation required. Its probably on par with wolverhampton difficulty wise. Euston is also a good call as mentioned above. Also Cowlairs. It isnt the busiest location or most complex, but again platforming at queen street during delays and failures can be interesting considering the long overlap from the route down the tunnel incline. Coventry chained into Leamington Spa fits nicely on two monitors and gives you a larger area and some challenges, especially if delays are on. Gloucester is another smaller sim, but is quite out dated now. Take a look at this page. Wolverhampton is probably at the top end of the 'Beginner' series, so I'd try something from Intermediate or ARS. Gloucester, Liverpool Street, Southampton and Victoria LUL would probably fit your requirements in terms of scolling. No need for port forwarding if you connect via : 127.0.0.1 as the IP address.
