Evening all, A quick heads-up regarding the last weekend of May 2016. It seems that a substantial amount of work is to take place around the Bristol PSB area between Saturday 28th and Monday 30th May inclusive and I have had it suggested on another forum that this is likely to be resignalling of Bristol PSB (Panel D) to TVSC Didcot. GWR have put a map on a leaflet that is available on their website (the leaflet relates to other works) but I have attached the map to this post. For the benefit, however, of anyone who has trouble seeing it a summary of the situation over the weekend of 28th - 30th May would be this: Bus Replacement Services: - Severn Beach to Bristol Temple Meads - Bristol Parkway to Newport - Bristol Parkway to Swindon - Bristol Parkway to Gloucester - Bristol Temple Meads to Filton Abbey Wood & Bristol Parkway - Bristol Temple Meads to Severn Tunnel Junction / Newport So the area closed also includes the whole of Filton Bank. Going by the map attached to this post it seems that Cross Country services will make a detour between Bristol Temple Meads and Gloucester (Standish Junction) via. Bath Spa, Chippenham, Swindon and Kemble. I wouldn't mind that trip for a bit of variety. If this is for resignalling I wonder if this will be commissioning of part of the area or simply preparation work (ie. installation of signals and equipment) but the number of routes closed suggests something substantial.
