As mentioned in another thread, this year's Autumn meet will be held in London on October 15th (note: a month earlier than usual). It will be held at The Plough in London (map here), expected to be 12 noon to 6pm as usual, with a possible curry afterwards. More details in due course but the date and venue are confirmed. 7 year anniversary of the 2009 groundhog day timetables. Popped this post back in as it disapeared elsewhere. On the subject of the date being important that evening of 15 October 1987 the great storm struck Southern England. Train 2XXX delayed due to a tree on the line

There have been several events on 15th October throughout railway history. I list some below. Now if Geoff has made the 15th October London Meet a significant date, I suspect we are looking at a sim to chain with York! IIRC it has 4 signals, one point, and a level crossing. Regarding the Leeds/York black hole of Sherburn, I have a solution I intend to work on this week which would involve a minor amendment to the Leeds and York sims. (The technical description is that the two sims do actually overlap in their off-screen areas so it's a case of trains either (a) falling off if not chained; (b) handing over to York/Leeds (as appropriate) if only those are chained; (c) handing over to Milford if that sim exists and is chained) SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

I've got the day booked off work. Given the distance from me I intend to prebook. How far in advance are prebookings accepted? I know I've seen several posts previously about getting in early for cheaper tickets. also my perspective of distance in london is quite poor. I've looked at the map provided. " said: Very easy and reasonable and by the time you've faffed around with tube tickets, escalators/lifts whatever there's probably not a lot in it time-wise plus you get to see some of London's nicer architecture around Bloomsbury. Most debit and credit cards are contactless these days and TfL calculates capping in the same way as an Oyster card.
