Southampton still not working!! 25/01/2017 at 14:41 #91767

I am not new to Simsig but am posting for the first time.
I have attempted to reinstall Southampton on my newer machine. I have no problem running other sims, both .exe and loader ones.
But I seem to have the same problem that has been reported before with this sim about it coming up with for 4 different errors when you try to run.
Did anyone actually come up with a reason as to why it does this or am I alone?
Any help and advice would be appreciated.

3922 posts 		Could you confirm a couple of things:

1. You've downloaded the version currently available from the site and installed it
2. Your operating system.

I've just downloaded Southampton, installed and it runs fine on Windows 7. Are the messages the same as the ones reported in this thread?

Yes same messages as the previous thred and running on windows 10. Even tried running it under Windows compatability for windows 7 and as administrator but still no joy

Online 		I'm now on W10 but have southampton.exe from my XP days. The file properties give the version as v2.201. I've just cranked it up using the default compatibility settings and it opened with no error messages. The title bars of the various windows show Southampton v3.2.3. Can you get far enough to see if you are getting the same version numbers?

I think it's this thread and these errors. Though it would help of the OP could confirm that or post the errors they are actually having.

Clicking OK to this makes nothing happen, but a visit to Task Manager later and the process was still running. Quite a few of them from all my attempts, in fact.
Any guidance on what's gone wrong?
