Wembley Main Line Update 31/01/2017 at 10:41 #91877

With Wembley Main Line having recently taken control of the area previously controlled by what was left of Watford Junction I'd like to add an update to the wish list.

Watford Junction, which I expect many of us obtained a free license for as part of the Wembley ML launch deal, always seems to be a little bit sad as a simulation on its own.

There are two potential benefits to users of an update to Wembley ML.

1. An additional work station for a simulation where it is relatively easy for users to double up on work stations thereby creating extra capacity for hosted sessions.
2. One less simulation for any hosts who wish to set-up a WCML South chain.

More regular hosting of an enhanced Wembley ML might encourage additional users to purchase a license for what is a manageable simulation - although I agree it could be argued that the addition of Watford PSB leads to an increased work load for a solo player.

Additional note: I have to admit that looking back I don't think it was logged at the time but I think when I did host a session there were some issues with Train Descriptions passing between Rugby South and Watford. I'll watch out for this next time I chain and see it is still an issue.

In a similar vein, I'd previously suggested incorporating Royston into the updated Kings Cross sim but at the time someone pointed out it would break any previously released timetables. I suspect the same would apply here.

Personally, I'd just stick with chaining them.

Besides, Royston has already been integrated into Cambridge.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.
