It's early afternoon in cool but sunny Sydney, Australia where approximately 18 people are currently in attendance for our first formal international meet. It's been a long, hard slog but we're nearly there with our first two Australian simulations, that of Moss Vale and Strathfield. The two simulations are very different from each other - Moss Vale is very long and heavy with freight requiring lots of forward planning, while Strathfield is short, fast (and furious at times!), with a more short term, rapid planning decision process.

Up here on the fourth floor we have a couple of rooms to use with plenty of tables, chairs, and power sockets. Volunteers have kindly brought plenty of equipment and we even have a huge screen on the wall on which Strathfield is showing. Outside the window we have a view of the tall buildings that are located here and nearby in the central business district. There is lots of eateries, bars, and local transit nearby.

The sims will be available to the public very soon - perhaps not today, depending on how it goes and the general feeling in the group. They are not 100% ready but very close. We'll write a new thread describing the situation shortly.

For now, come back and check on this thread for updates. There'll be broadly similar updates on our Facebook page too. For now, we're going to sit back and enjoy the meet!

"Sparky" kindly giving the opening speech. A lot of people put a lot of effort into these sims, whether developing, testing, writing timetables, giving technical advice, proofreading, or simply just playing. For those people we give our many thanks.
