Another one which I think would make a good sim.

We already have London Liverpool Street to Bethnal Green and Cambridge Heath (Liverpool Street sim) and we also have the line from Cambridge Heath to Stanstead Airport, including the branches, thanks to the West Anglia sim.

I can't help thinking that, if it were possible, it would be good to one day see the remainder of Liverpool Street's area which would cover trains from Liverpool Street via. Stratford to Southend Victoria, including the line to Marks Tey and thus the boundary with Colchester ASC. This would include the branches for Braintree, Sudbury and Southminster. A good-size sim it would be too, perhaps called North East Anglia.

Yes, this was being discussed yesterday too in the small chain of Liv St and West Anglia, and it would greatly add to the attraction of this area for multiplay and chaining.
I was however pleasantly surprised what a good sim West Anglia is, first time playing it.

West Anglia is indeed a good sim but rather tricky without ARS after a day's work! I missed the discussion on the Southend Victoria line though: probably joined too late to catch it which, with my working hours being unpredictable, is a way of life. I also did once say in a separate thread that I thought Colchester ASC would be a good sim too so if the Marks Tey line was done and then Colchester ASC was done at a later date then you would have a good-size chain.

Then get Cambridge to chain and you've virtually got the whole of Anglia Region (as was).

Megalomaniac? Moi? :-)

Wholly agree with this! Yes to the Great Eastern!

In terms of other sims in the Colchester ASC area, you've got the East Suffolk Line (controlled from Saxmundham), fringes at Westerfield and Oulton Broad South to Lowestoft box / workstation (dependant on era).

There's also if you'd want to include the Brundall to Yarmouth / Lowestoft area in Colchester ASC's area (they are controlled by two workstations now) or as a separate sim with all the old AB boxes.

I think it's termed as Great Eastern;

"Inner" which covers from Bethnal green To The fringe to Colchester,
Including the Clacton, Sudbury & Southminster branches plus the heavy commuter & express traffic along the Shenfield-London 4 track section
and
"Outer" with the marks tey (Colchester Fringe) all the way to Ipswich & Norwich Including the
Harwich branch (could also be in a Parkston sim)
Felixtowe Branch
Clacton Branch
which i think would be just about a good size for a sim, the more rural Anglia lines i feel would be a "new" sim

i got bored a few weeks back and made a spreadsheet about possible future sims,
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oth9TCaXDW4QlUSmmJN83-qFHjLarrLkt-OoS2EIdRY/edit#gid=0
just rough but thought i'd do it to see what sims we have left to make

Thanks, that works!

And quite interesting to note that large swathes of the eastern side, both north and south, of the UK have yet to be simulated.

I'd ike to see Ashford IECC too: it was the first "power box" I ever visited when they invited people shortly after opening to come for an hour's visit and a go on their own simulator.

Perfect! It's a little rough in places like Scotland but is just a rough guide

Yeah amazed me what large areas are not simulated, such as the SWML beyond Wimbledon, Ashford & The SE and large parts of the Northeast and Scotland!

yeah Ashford is also up there with a good sim with CTRL trains joining the ML too

Isn't Ashford IECC on the Conflict Of Interest? or does the COI not apply anymore?

It doesn't apply as much as it's used to, but it all depends on any consultancy work I do.

Ahh that makes sense. Cheers for explaining it
