My daughter is completing her final year university dissertation looking at transport links in Greater Manchester. She would like to know if there are any station / line maps of around 1990/1991 vintage so that these can be compared to the current network as part of her research. try Ebay or similar for a Quail Map. theres a 1990 edition which is brilliant and comprehensive

Thanks for your help. I bought the 1990 quail (I'm a sucker for those anyway). I also found a great site http://www.projectmapping.co.uk/Reviews/manchester_train_maps.html which has a 1985 map which is good start. Log in to reply |

The 6th Edition 'Baker' rail atlas was published in 1990, which may be easier to read and compare from than Quail? I've no idea if any are on the market; the 5th and 7th editions were printed in 1988 and 1992 respectively.
