Loop and Siding Lengths 18/04/2021 at 12:33 #138771

Whilst the Gloucester sim is no longer officially supported, there are a couple of bits of data currently missing from the manual (and a copy of the Rules of the Plan for 2020 v4.0) that may be of use to those that still have the sim installed.

Would anyone have the length data for the following:

1. Alstone Carriage Siding
2. Alstone Spur
3. Gloucester New Yard Up & Dn Goods Loop

Skynet Google (Maps) was used to get a good estimate for all three, but even at high resolution GPLs are hard to discern...

TIA

P.S. Was Bromsgrove DGL ever permissible between DG56 and G120?

In Zone 6, no one can hear you scream...

I do not think the sim data is available and the exe sim predates some of the features that allow testers to work it out (I think, but don't have the sim either).

You might be able to find out by downloading the sectional appendix of the Network Rail website which shows loop lengths.

I cannot remember for certain but I do not think the DGL at Bromsgrove was permissive.

Understood, I did have the actual lengths in mind when I typed the original post.

I have been through both the Sectional Appendix and the Rules of the Plan (2020 editions) with no luck.

Going through as many Western Sectional Appendixes as I have and in all of December 2012, June 2013, September 2013 and June 2014 the Down Goods at Bromsgrove is consistently listed as "PF" in all of those.

Any views and / or opinions expressed by myself are from me personally and do not represent those of any company I either work for or am a consultant for.
