|Points P2138A swinging overlap timer expired 04/05/2021 at 21:43 #139308|
In a MP session today we had a points failure which occured at 10:52:47 (Alexadra Palace) and cleared itself at 10:53:21 as the signaller was trying to test which way the points had failed.... at this time we got the points failure cleared and the following messages... 10:52:44 Points P2138A swinging overlap timer expired // 10:52:44 Points P2138B swinging overlap timer expired.
It was strange as ive not seen that before.

To allow for points to swing in an overlap, there is a 7-8 second grace period after commanding a facing set of points to swing, to allow them to be not detected either way (While transiting) where the signal in rear will remain off. If detection isn't obtained in either position after this grace period the signal will revert.
The message is telling you this timer has expired, and that a signal has potentially reverted.
If you load up Liverpool Street Station, set 86 to 74 on the Up Eclectic, allow 86 to come off, then swing 2061 points reverse, normal, reverse, normal etc etc you'll see the message come up after a few seconds and 86 revert.
