Apologies if this has been done before, I'm unable to find it if it has!
I've had it before (notably on salisbury, where ECS can call out of the east yard hours early) where I have had to ask the driver to "wait for booked XXXX departure time." I'm now doing an updated/modern Oxted TT and can't work out how to use the set down functions to allow for an early departure if ready. Is this the "variable" set down, or something else? (I am wanting this for all ECS moves, as this particular one departed 25 mins early on the day from East Grinstead, but i'm assuming there may be more like this!)

any help appreciated!

TIA

Basically... What it is driver... We uh....

Hi,

By default Set Down is set to "Variable", so the driver may or may not be ready before planned departure.

If you use "Regulating Stop" as the option here, the driver will wait for a bit, call in, and you can then instruct to wait for planned time. However if you give them the road early, they will depart as soon as they notice.

In the stop options you can also set a "waiting" time greater than zero, which will be the minimum amount of time before the driver looks for a starting signal. Useful to allow time for changing ends / GSM registration etc.

Thanks

With regulating stop, the train will not stop at all if it has a clear signal. As such, I would avoid using it if the ECS originates at the location in question. Use 'variable' instead.

The other point in case you had not used it before, is that any subsequent reversals or stops should (*) be set as stop-go ('brief'to avoid trains sitting down and waiting time later in their movements.

* - some prefer setting zero times, which also works, but I find annoying if you are reading the analysis file.
