In the image shown 2Y51 is stopped at Long Buckby but the signal before the station is still green? 2Y51 is a 4/350 so should fit on the entire platform.

RYPK track circuit (Axle counter in real life I think) is a combined berth and overlap track circuit. RY1069 won't revert until RYPL track circuit is occupied by a train. You only notice it here because there is a station ahead of the signal, but before the end of the overlap. One example you can see from a platform, and I'm sure there are many more, if you stand at Acton Bridge station and look north towards Weaver Junction you can see WD163 signal, as a 4 car 350 passes it, you'll see it still showing a proceed aspect with the whole train beyond the signal, this is the same thing but without the station stop. You only notice it here because there is a station ahead of the signal, but before the end of the overlap.There's at least one instance on the New Lines between Euston and Watford Junction where a train can be out of sight from the signal (because of a curve) but still be within the overlap, so the signal is still green.
