I wonder if these signals are ever lit in the sim? Perhaps as a result of a delay caused by an incident @ RAF Valley.

My understanding is that they were operated from the RAF Valley Control Tower and were very much for emergencies. They were normally unlit (a point of some concern to a signal engineer of my acquaintance, for obvious reasons). I have an idea (but don't recall where I heard that so may be wrong) there may have been a requirement to test them but I have no details and I believe, if so, it was only to be done when there were no trains around that might be affected.
