Not sure whether this has been raised already but I cannot find any reference to this problem:
5A06 and 5H05, both booked to exit Down Carriage sidings, do not enter the sim. I have re-run the simulation again with the same result. Both trains are shown to run 100% of the time. Can somebody please enlighten me as to why this should happen?

There is a feature about siding capacity (it's described in the original manual
https://www.davros.org/rail/SimSig/euston-manual.html#space , the forum changes the capitalization of SimSig so the link doesn't work unless you input the URL with all the letters lowercase): I think that is causing the problem and there's not enough room in the DCS 10-11 from which those trains should have left. It could probably be confirmed by inspecting the savefile.
DCS 10-11 has a capacity of 298 m: since 5A86 (208 m) should have already appeared at 2:40, and unless you put another train in, there is no possibility of 5A06 (208 m) leaving. If that is really the problem, to solve it you can change their entry point to DCS 1-9 which have far more room, or keep track of the material that's stored in sidings 10-11 to make sure there is enough to form new trains (unfortunately 1984 timetable doesn't specify if trains for DCS are for one or the other location).

Thank you for your reply. I have changed the exit point to Down Carriage 1-9 and this seems to have worked. 5A06 exited on time so now I now await the departure of 5H05 which exit point has also been amended. However, I'm not sure I understand your reference to the URL! What is it and how do I enter on timetable? As far as Down Carriage siding capacity is concerned, I have attached result of enquiry which seems to suggest that Down Carriage siding 10-11 has enough room although I may be quite wrong about this.

He's saying you should go to that URL for more information.

The problem is, if you try clicking on it, it doesn't work (try it).

The reason is in the proper url it is .../s‌imsig/... all lower-case. However, this forum automatically converts s‌imsig to SimSig and breaks the link, so you need to manually change the link (which also shouldn't have a , at the end) in your browser address bar to get it to work.

(I have used a little trick which I doubt would work in a link to make the text display as I want, but try putting 's‌imsig' in your own post and see what happens.)

The correct place to find the documentation now is here in the text tutorials.

This is the shunter telling you how much empty space he has for incoming stock. Your issue was stock coming *out* of the depot. As described in the manual, the capacities are 2160m and 298m. You're reporting more space than that, meaning the depot is completely empty and more!

(Hmm, I'd better check that; possibly the manual is wrong.)

Manual fixed. The capacities are 2220 and 298.

So 10-11 were completely empty and 1-9 contained 2220-2182 = 38 metres of vehicles at the time you made the call.

Thank you Clive. It would seem that the original entry in the 1984 Timetable showing 5A06 and 5H05 as exiting from DC 10-11 is incorrect if these sidings are shown as empty. On amendment to their exit from DC 1-9, they appear and no problem is encountered.

Thanks to all for your contributions.
