Hi fellow SimSignallers! I know thanksgiving isn’t really a thing this side of the Atlantic, but I felt it was an appropriate date anyway for me to post this note of appreciation. I have been playing SimSig for well over a decade now (my how it has flown by) and have spend many thousands of hours playing a ream of simulations over that time. I used to post fairly frequently on the fora here; not so much in recent times due to life and the like getting in the way, but as most of the posts I have made of late have been bug reports, so I felt I needed to post this. I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been involved with SimSig. A big thank you to Geoff (obviously), but also to all of the other developers, testers, researchers, timetable writers, moderators and experts that have all come together to give us these amazing simulations. You should all know that you have given me so many great moments throughout (admittedly many of them stressful, but always a lot of fun). I particularly want to say thanks to Clive, as it is through your website I originally found SimSig all those years ago, to TimTamToe for including me in your team of timetable testers for your suite of Southern Region timetables, and diolch yn fawr to headshot119 for the many times you’ve helped and assisted me throughout the years. I also want to raise a glass to maxand, derbybest, and the many others amongst us who have moved on to become signallers in their next life. You will always be remembered on these boards! Finally, I wish to say go raibh míle maith agaibh to everyone here. The amount of enjoyment I have had chatting, reading and learning from you all has been truly incredible! Howdy, long time but Yma O Hyd! I echo Mark's thanks to Geoff, Peter, Clive, Karl and all the developing team's efforts over the years. Also thanks to Mark himself, who without his eye for detail in spotting my errors, my series of 2012 tt's certainly wouldn't have got released. I will echo Mark's words by adding my own. I can't recall when I first started playing it but isn't it amazing where a simple search for "railway signalling simulations" will get you! My thanks to Geoff M (of course) and to all the sim developers, testers and TT writers who, thanks to their efforts, have provided me with much evening entertainment over the course of my SimSig time so far and I look forward to much more. Indeed I feel I also ought to add my two cents to the pile. SimSig has been a big part of my life for many years since I was a trainee signaller at a small Derbyshire heritage railway at the bright age of 16 with hopes of becoming a real signaller at some stage, I'm now nearing 30 and I'm not bored yet - however sadly the dream never came true despite getting to interview stage with Network Rail for a position in Bootle (*hint*, not the one near Liverpool). Whilst I've never been particularly active on the forums, I've spent countless evenings playing the sims. I got very excited when the Wigan sims were released, being born in the vicinity, and again when the Peak District sim was released having spent a lot of time growing up around the area (it's such a shame that sim has been discontinued, it has so much potential), yet deeply saddened at the loss of previously released sims (Trent being the one I miss the most as it's close to home, followed closely by Gloucester). Currently I've had Leeds and Moss Vale on the go, with my only gripe that these sims haven't been designed with 1080p monitors in mind - time for a screen upgrade! So as all have said previously in this thread, thanks to Geoff, Peter and the rest of the development and testing team for providing endless hours of entertainment over the years and here's to many many more! I've been playing SimSig for longer than I can remember, but forensic examination of my choice of username shows I set up my account while living in Australia and not far from the Don River heritage railway which I never once visited. It's a compulsively fascinating series of games, along with timetable-writing and Interface Gateway-prodding. Thanks very much all!
