Hi Folks, I'm not so hot on lever frames, so would appreciate some advice. I've looked in the manual, and at the diagram and I'm still stuck. I have train 6M21 that enters at Hunslet DS2+. He wants to go to Hunslet St Jn, then I guess to reverse in siding to go back out towards Methley. Can someone offer the correct lever actions to do such a move? I assumed I have to pull 9, to get them out, but then need to pull 3 and 2 also to get it out onto the siding and into sim proper. Those two appear to be locked. I also don't quite understand the handsignal idea - am I just tickboxing which ones are fine to proceed? Any help welcome. James JGH Log in to reply |

The train is booked to reverse on the Shunt Line (i.e. the upper of the two lines). I don't think there's a problem reversing it on Rec 1 (the lower line), though I haven't tried it. Handsignals are used because there are no fixed signals protecting the exits from some of the lines- in reality, the person operating the ground frame would give a handsignal to the driver to authorise them to proceed. To reverse on the shunt line: Pull lever 9 to set the points from DS2+. Then, tick the 'DS2+' hand signal. The train will then move onto the shunt line- use F2 to monitor its progress. You may need to set the onward route from 4489 to allow the train to clear the points. When the train has stopped, untick the hand signal and normalise lever 9. You can then send it straight out on the REC 2 line by clicking the 'Shunt Line' hand signal- don't forget to set a route from S909 as well. Alternatively, you can send the train onto REC1, or reverse it on REC1, by moving points 3 or 5 as desired. Note that as this interfaces with the main panel, you'll need to release the GF (left click the 'F' button), then reverse lever 1. The points will also have to be unlocked before they can be moved by operating the facing point locks- either lever 2 or 6 depending on where you're moving it to.
