What’re the free simulations, and will the game work if I email the files to another device? I heard about this game via glowing recommendations on the RailUK forums.

You get ALL the sims when you download, not just one you have free or have bought. The difference comes in that 'Paid' sims will only run for 15 minutes. The free ones show up with a green signal in the start screen (eg Aston, Brighton). Yes you can move/copy timetable (.wtt) and saved files (.ssg) between devices, but a paid sim will only run on a device that is both logged in and the logged in user has paid for it. There’s a tick box that you can enable that shows you all sims you have access to.
