Hi,

Couple of suggestions:
1. In the host's Licence View, a blank column for freeware sims e.g. Carlisle is shown, despite the bottom text saying "All users have access to free/donationware sims which are not shown here".
2. When a user looks at game details, and they haven't shared license visibility, either guide them to a link to "Edit Profile", or offer an inline form with dropdown to edit their setting? (NB I don't think it's that intuitive to find the relevant dropdown from the "Your Account" page!)

Thanks
Jamie

In regards to point 2 Jamie. The licence/sim owned sharing feature is entirely an opt in feature and the community are not required to share information that they do no want to share. On that basis, I don't think anything will be done to change that.

The game details states what sims are in use and at the end of the day, an player wishing to join a game will know that they have to have the sim.

As for the freeware, it's freeware, everyone has access to them, I don't think that's going to change either. I don't see what difference it would make personally whether they are shown or not. (That's just my own opinion though).

Is there anything specific in your mind as to why these could be usefull? But again, the sharing on info is entirely down to the individual and not a requirement.

Hi Craig,

I'd hypothesise that a good number of users aren't aware that the licence view sharing even exists. I remember an announcement in passing and then clean forgot about it for ages until I hosted a game. I'm happy that it's entirely optional and it should be emphasised if a link were in place (when people signed up to MP) to remind people the feature existed to start with!

As for the second point, it's mainly that the text says one thing but the table contradicts :)

Thanks
Jamie

So for users sharing details then a free sim should show a green dot but without a tick, rather than being blank ?
And/or (less 'nice' ) that a red dot shows for sims that the user does not have a license for.
You'd still want the banner 'license details not shared'

Good evening folks.

I have done some editing in the wiki to find a happy medium regarding clients sharing their owned sim(s) status.

for a client they will find information regarding the feature at the bottom part of this page.

I have also added a couple of paragraphs for hosts in the "other notes" section with the new features that were brought in.

General advice would be to link the relevant wiki page in your game details to point the client there and where the information can be found on that page.
Once again, it's been made clear that these are not mandatory requirements that should hinder anyone wishing to join* any game(s) that have been advertised if they so chose to not share such details.

*If a client wishes to join a sim that requires a license, they need to own that sim.

Regarding the indications of the freeware sims. We are in discussion about it, but will have a look at it once some vacations are over. :-)

Hope this sorts out a few things for you just now.
