I've just started to look at the manual and was quite surprised at how many 'via' buttons there are.
The signal numbers are provided, but at the moment I haven't seen a clear layout diagram. With those that I have seen, when I zoom in to enlarge that layout, all of the signal numbers etc. are unreadable.

Can anyone please provide me with a clear diagram, as without one I'll not be able to play the sim ☹

Thanks in advance.

To be honest I've run it by mashing the via buttons I want on the panel without reference to the table, as most are logical. If it doesn't accept them as valid you probably don't need to use them.

Of course you will be able to play the sim. It will take a little bit of trial and error then a few mis-steps when you are running the sim and have to react to a message that sim buttons are required for this route or that it is an invalid route from the signal but that just means a re-click picking a different button or route.

Don't try an over-complicate things or you will end up with information overload. Most of the buttons needed are intuitive anyway so the main problem is forgetting to click on one of them rather than worrying about which button to click.

Yeah, you're probably right. I should try it out beforehand.

There is also a full list in the Manual if you have the will to plough through a long column of buttons and applicable routes from signal number to signal number.

I'm part way through writing the signal number plan, will be on the Wiki in a few days.

That said, it's easier to do it by trial and error. If there are multiple ways to get from signal to signal you'll probably need to use the appropriate buttons, if there's only one route you probably won't need to use any buttons.

More or less what Postal said. So, going to give it a try

I'm a great believer that you learn far more quickly by the poke and hope method, or as we engineers say, if all else fails then read the manual. :-)

This is very true and is exactly what I did at the start of my 21 years as a Building Services Technician.
