Hello all,

I have just submitted my latest Bristol TT Release.

Here is a description taken from the WTT description, so you get an idea of the scenario:

It's a Monday and things aren't going as planned and there is 2 major blockades in the West.

First of all, Network Rail had trouble starting their engineering plan over the weekend just gone at Bourton, Swindon. So they started mid-day Saturday and are expected to carry on right through Monday. Services that pass through Swindon will be diverted.

Secondly, a landslide between Bridgwater and Highbridge occured Sunday night and is blocking both lines. Services will be either diverted or terminated.

Please read the notes at the very top of the description, as there are some problems that can only be fixed by the user (Don't panic, there's only a couple!)

You may feely publish this to any website, edited and -uploaded (provided its a different name in order not to overwrite) onto SimSig or any other site without my permission.

Any problems with this TT, then please e-mail me at:

james143611@blueyonder.co.uk

or post on this forum.

Regards,

James.

Thanks for creating this timetable, its going to be good fun.

I am currently having a bit of trouble with 5K01. I got it from the DMU depot to Bedminster, then through TM p3, but it wanted to keep heading towards Filton at signal 55, rather than reverse into the HLS via shunt signal 562. Via the F2 display I told it to reverse, which it did quite happily, but now according to F2 it has "run out of valid track". Is this normal, and will it sort itself out at about 0450 if I tell it to reverse again? Or did I route it wrongly, should I have sent it towards Barton Hill south and let it reverse from there?

Using the latest (Dec 09) version of the sim. (2.202.0.0)

Regards
Alan

Hello Alan,

Sorry I should have noted that this was built on the original scrolly and might not work in v2.202. There is a bug if I remember too with the Avonmouth BHT that train's won't move. I think the HLS shunt is a 2.202 bug as it works perfectly in v2.201, do you still have that?

If not I can e-mail you the v2.201.exe file, provided that is ok by the SimSig team?

In other news, I also forgot to mention that there will be a Westbury version to link up with Bristol too, currently finished and undergoing a long test. Exeter may also be provided too

Regards,

James.

5K01 is TTed to reverse at Bristol East junc, rather than Inner East Rev. It will therefore need to run as far as sig 55 or 57, or edit the TT (to Bristol TM East Inner Reverse) to allow the reverse at 562.

In effect there are 3 reversing locations on the east side, Inner, 558/560 (middle) and East junction itself.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

James and Andy

Thanks for your speedy and helpful replies.

I expect I still have the older version languishing in my download folder somewhere, if not I will get back to you via email as the Avonmouth BHT is indeed broken!

But this particular issue is a case of operator error on my part - not knowing exactly which points constitute bristol east jct etc.

Alan

The Paddington to South Wales services seem to be running to their original TT (i.e. via Swindon and Westerleigh Jn.) Did you forget about them or am I missing something?

Edited to add...

DOH! They go via Melksham!

Please ignore this post.

Yeah, I read the TT description and didn't see it first time, then in 2nd reading read "South Wales services will run as far as Swindon on their normal route" understanding that as (stupidly) the route from Reading and Didcot rather than from Bristol Parkway. One of many senior moments I've been having recently.

Just to give you an update, I started again on the older version of the bristol scrolly, and also on the latest where I originally had problems, and both times managed to get into the HLS successfully, by signalling past 55, and reversing from 28 to 562 and into the siding.

So I must have caused the problem before by interfering with the running, telling the train to reverse direction early, and confused the sim.

How odd! I have just received a message that 4L28 has received an adverse change of aspect at signal w186. That's Westbury, not under my control, and even if it was I didn't touch it!! Yet its listed in the F5 screen so presumably I've been docked points as well!
