The screen display implies there is a scissors crossover on the entrance/exit to Roads Z & Y at Flemington Car Sidings, which I presume is under the control of the shunter.

Does this mean that in real life a set can proceed from the Arrival Line or Neck to Road Z?

It looks like in the simulation the only way to arrive on Road Z is via the East Fork and 313 Signal which could be an issue if you don't make the call to the Shunter for permission until a set has arrived on the Arrival Line or Neck.

Is this the case in the simulation or am I missing something?

I have tried routing via Line Y and you get a warning/penalty.

You'll need to ask the shunter before the train is committed to the Arrival Road, as per real life.

If the shunter wants to put something through their scissors they will ask for you to put the train into Y.

Thanks for that.

If something is arriving from the Up Direction and booked via the Neck will the Shunter always accept via Y or X?

And finally on this topic - in the simulation can the shunter deal with multiple requests or do you need to wait for the 1st arrival to drop off the sim before calling for permission for the 2nd one? I should have tried this 5 minutes ago when I had 2 virtually simultaneous arrivals.

Trains arriving from Lidcombe should only be accepted into X or Y. Please let us know if they want one of those into Z, because you can't follow that instruction.

The shunter should be able to handle multiple requests, as they do in real life.

A common call to the shunter was:
"Box to shunter, 65 followed by 97?"
"65 into X, 97 into Y"
"Ok"

So, we've done our best to have it accomodate multiple incoming trains, and you would keep track of what the shunter wants via the scratch pad. Again, let us know if you have any trouble with that.

From Lidcombe the sim shunter should only allow X or Y, not Z. There can be simultaneous arrivals into X, Y, and Z; similarly the shunter can send them out on all three lines as well; not at the same time per road obviously.

You really do need to use the scratchpad to keep on top of it though. In real life the signallers used pencil and paper.

TD doesn't appear to step from 308 (departure line) to 296 (up main). Is this a bug or as per real life?

It does step, but you need to have both 308 and 328 off before the train passes 308 (per real life). Best to back-set, ie 328 first, then 308.

Talking about Arrivals, should not Flemington CS Arrivals be a shunt location? It is in real life! 33-A and 95AA cannot fit together in the NECK!

I ran into the same issue, when I routed one into the arrival road it turned back at the LOS and proceeded normally.

What was the run # & where did you route it from onto the arrival rd.

Your comment re reversing & proceeding normally is a bit ambiguous.

Thanks

Flemington Neck timetable location applies to the shunting neck, arrival road and departure road.

This is addressed in the sim manual.

Use any of these roads when you need to reverse trains to and from Lidcombe. It is up to you, the drivers will accept all three without complaint.

During the morning when the empty sets are coming out of Flemington. 33-A is timetabled to the neck for almost 20 minutes, 95AA then enters at Flemington also scheduled for the neck *BUT* if you send this train to the grey stop board on the ARR track the train will reverse after reaching the board , and continue normally as though you had turned the train at the neck, the two tracks are effectively the same.
