In the following savefile, train 2T04 has somehow gotten corrupt. Its direction is listed as "?". Trying to remove train ingame causes an exception to be thrown. The train is listed as being stopped at PN1, however the TC for this signal is clear, and the signal is showing proceed.
Could someone help me fix, or remove if unable to fix, this train?

Having started an Exeter run about 10 days ago and having solved my own problem of directionless trains when loading saved files I thought I would look at your file. I restarted my computer and loaded the file. A warning message indicated that the sim was version 4.0.14 but the save file was version 4.6.1. I accepted this, and found 2T04 to be a down train waiting at PN3, so all was in order. Once 2F09 had left Paignton I was able to move 2T04 into platform 2 as required. I then stopped the sim and elected to load the file again. This time, the warning message showed the sim as version 5.6, the saved file was as before and 2T04 had no direction, replicating your problem. I am aware that I have two versions of the sim file on this computer, the duplication dating from the time when all SimSig files were located by default to C:/Users/Public. The Loader log confirmed that my first load of your file activated the old version of the sim file, reported as 4.3.1, listing some duplicated location indices (which I do not understand) and suggesting that the Loader had done a bottom-up search of my folder locations. However, the second loading of your file used the current version of the sim, with which your saved file appears to be incompatible. Perhaps your file was saved from a run based on an old sim version. I am no expert, but I thought you might be interested in my experiment.

That's interesting Dion as a while ago I experienced a similar issue with a train on Manchester Picc sim which also had '?' as a direction and was refusing to do anything.

If the saved game was started on a previous version of Exeter, then there's no guarantee it will continue to function on later versions- you can often get away with it, but I know Exeter has had at least one major rebuild while on the Loader.

Piccadilly similarly had a major one when the Ordsall Chord got added.
