A quick update on my Three Bridges TT based around the engineering works and WTT of 08th May 2022 for anybody wondering as to its progress. I have been making progress with this, albeit slowly, after a bit of a break from doing it. I have so far done the traction allocations of 276 out of the 1117 trains (just under 25%) in the timetable. The traction settings are being done thanks to someone on another forum who had the relevant info and supplied the unit numbers of each train booked to run on the day.

I can't put a date on when it will be finished but neither can I wait to test it on you lot. It will be the kind of scenario on which "Captain Chaos" could potentially have a field day! However I sometimes have a period of time during which my concentration span is not much but I will get it finished as soon as I can.

Dave

It is my intention to create another modern TT for Piccadilly based on the complete service re-cast we will see next week.

This will be be more like the 2015 era TT, with most south Manchester services returning to the main station to reduce congestion through Castlefield following the 2018 debacle, but with some new services and of course the Ordsall Chord being in use.

Big changes include a complete re-write of both TPE and Northern services, more traffic through Bolton (almost every Preston bound service now runs via Chorley with only a Wigan NW-Victoria peak time shuttle via Chat Moss) and the return to use of the former Manchester International Depot for Class 331s - renamed New Bank St LMD (long term will see more stock using it, but for now I think it's two diagrams of two units per day).

I am using a non-strike weekday in January as the base, using RealTimeTrains/OpenTrainTimes, the WTT and Northern Piccadilly driver diagrams and can then amend it for any STPs that occur closer to the time.

There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

If you wanted to have my copy, I have a complete passenger/ecs wise timetable with just the freight to add named Manchester Piccadilly February Winter 2023. If not looking forward to yours :-)

Ah, I didn't realise you were doing one - hope I'm not treading on your toes! Thanks for the offer, but I'll stick with my (terrible) workflow for now. That may change when I get to the stage of adding all the 2A/2Ks each with subtly different timings on every trip!

Nope you all good, always good to have plenty of timetables. I randomly started it 2nd week of October and finished all the Passenger/ECS workings couple days ago then noticed some of the paths disappeared *cough* AWC *Cough*. Them 2A/2K jobs are pesky!!.

You'll notice a lot of updates from myself regarding the Carlisle timetables. My earlier timetables from 2016 to 2019 have been upgraded in regards to how my newer timetables look. Train Types, Train Descriptions, Freight Rules, Regulation Stops & Crew Changes have all been updated including entry timings. Other timetables that needed updated have also been uploaded.

Pleased to report that this has been submitted into the download area for approval. With 1556 trains it's a busy one (no p-coding here!) but is suitable for ARS operation.

New St 2023 has most trains in (overnight berthing at New Street caused a massive headache!). Just waiting on a few more freight details then will start testing. If anyone wants to give it a test run, please do let me know.

Wembley Main 2023 remains on the cards once this is finished.

Another update for where I am on timetables. Quite a lot of planned timetables. I have decided to leave my Manchester Piccadilly timetable that I was working on as it would be pointless have two of the same timetables that are a month apart as feature the same trains. As with the railway timetables are either amended or changed for potential engineering works, although I do like the changes I sometime prefer using the full WTTs to give a more fuller experience. Below in the Planned section is all the timetable that are in planning and are to be written. I appreciate others will have timetables I do respect them.

Completed ready for upload:
Manchester Piccadilly - August Weekday 2022
Staffordshire Saturday - 25-02-2023
Warrington PSB Saturday - 18-02-2023

In the Works:
Staffordshire - June 2023

On Hold:

Planned:
Carlisle PSB - June 2023
Carlisle PSB - Saturday September 2023
Carlisle PSB - November 2023
Manchester Piccadilly - July 2023
Manchester North - July 2023
Staffordshire - Saturday July 2023
Staffordshire - November 2023
Warrington PSB - July 2023
Warrington PSB - November 2023
Warrington PSB - Saturday June 2023
Wigan Wallgate - Saturday June 2023

Testing Phase:

Is timetable writing a hobby of yours? You seem to produce so many.
Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate.

It started off as a hobby, then took hold more. I do indeed like creating timetables it just brings me a joy once its available for everyone to try out and use. Plus it keeps my mental heath state in check as I have something always to do to keep myself occupied. I would say I write timetable each day of the week but I don't I split it up to have time to myself and the Mrs, while testing and writing timetables.

Thanks for all the new timetables, really adds interest to the game - I'm enjoying trying some of the recent Carlisle ones.

I wouldn't have a clue how to write a timetable myself but would be really interested in a Tyneside timetable with the ECML closed north of Newcastle and trains diverted over the Tyne Valley - not an uncommon occurrence in recent times. Would really add a new dimension to an already interesting sim.

Many thanks.

Richard.

Now that my first timetable (Moss Vale 1987) is available for download, I’ve moved on in time a little bit to work on a Moss Vale 2001. Still historical, but a lot closer to what the sim was designed for.

I’m doing random weekdays by a decision at start up. This is particularly apt because the interstate (and intrastate with NRC at that point) train numbering system is/was day of the week based. One of the things that annoys me most about the default timetable is that it’s always Wednesday (admittedly the most interesting day of the week with the Cockatoo run). So I’ve got a cure for that.

I’ve got the base model built and am starting to test it. If or when that’s reasonably sorted, I’ll put in some ad hoc working and see if anyone wants to test it. I’ve learned it always takes longer than expected. But so far, so good.

Another update for where I am on timetables. Quite a lot of planned timetables were planned on my last update. Now with Crewe Released I have expanded my territory.. After talking to a member here I have decided on a plan although this will take a while to successfully complete. I’m aiming to do a complete chain of timetables from Wembley ML to Warrington (Via Rugby/Trent Valley/Stafford). With a missing section of WCML at Preston, I’ll continue forward and include one for Carlisle. As for Motherwell which I also been thinking of to add I have decided for now to leave out. This mainly due to the works for the Carstairs Remodelling which has changed the layout completely.
I appreciate others will have timetables planned/working on and I do respect them.
