Personally I uninstalled...a good excuse for cleaning up the computer and copying these newer versions that have been done by the team. Putting things where hopefully this time I will remeber were I put them.
Thanks for the effort that the team at the top have put in...it is really appreciated.

I have a couple of question with regards to upgrading so instead of starting up a new thread I'll 'Hijack' this one :P

My main question is can I keep both the old versions and the new ones if I so wanted to, and if so what would I need to do to be able to do this?

My next question is what changes have been made to the simulations, and will I notice any differences?

Also, will saves from the older versions be compatible, or would it perhaps not be advised in-case any differences cause compatibility problems?

Many thanks in advance for reply.

In answer to the questions:

1) Provided you use a new folder for the new release you can keep both old and new versions as working sims.
2) Varies from sim to sim. Most of the latest issues are refresh versions which clear up various bugs reported since the last issue so not a lot of difference in operation or appearance. Geoff and his team are gradually migrating the sims from screen views to scrolly so Kings Cross for example is significantly different but most are upgrades rather than radical changes.
3) Unlikely that saves are compatible from version to version as the save carries over a whole set of attributes set up by the program. If any one of those attributes has been changed, the whole save is not compatible with the new program. You won't hurt the new program, it just won't load the save.

Also under 1), if you did install to another folder so that both versions were available then you would probably need to create a new start menu shortcut for the old version, the shortcut having been overwritten on installation of the new version.
