Hi all,

I've got a bit of a problem with my PC at the moment. It's a bit broke, so I'm having to run it in safe mode at the moment, until I get a new PC.

For some reason at the moment it just won't load any scrolly sims. Paged sims are fine though. So, my question is, is there a place where I can download the paged versions of the sims that were paged until I get's me a new PC?

TIA

Have you considered just reinstalling windows rather than buying a new PC?

Yep I have, but I don't have the Windows disk, and I ain't shelling out 350 quid for Windows 7. I would much rather stick with XP!

£350 ?? !!. Is it a gold plated version. If you take your PC to PC World they'll upgrade you to Win 7 for a reasonable price. They might even be able to diagnose your problem.

Seems a lot! When I bought my Vista laden laptop I opted for an upgrade disk for Windows 7. £65 inc vat which I thought was reasonable. From Amazon

That sounds like Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, you can get home premium for much cheaper......

take your pc to pc world they will more than likely stitch you up!!! I took mine to one of their store a few years ago to get a bigger hard drive installed because I couldn't be bothered ripping it apart myself. Only they phoned up and said they couldn't do the job because they had no disks so I ended up doing it myself anyway. Another friend of mine had loads of problems with them not having a clue what was wrong with her laptop and I ended up fixing it for her! Not the best place in the world for repairs to computers unless you are totally deperate!

Not sure if my PC specs would run 7 though. Might take it down the local repair shop and see what they can do about it, or just get a new PC - there getting cheaper now!

I'm not entirely sure, it runs incredibly slowly, and it can't cope with scrolling. It runs fine in safe mode though. Having said that, I have just tried it and it won't get past the booting stage now.
