Ok, have just run this through. Just run 6V20 into platform 2, set the route from 671 to the sidings, its neither necessary or possible to set a route from 211 to 671 as the TC is occupied due to the length of train, and after a few minutes it will depart to the sidings.

Also just run it through and had no problems with 6V20-1. Arrived at Newton Abbot early, departed of it's own accord/volition 14 early and went into the yard as expected (this may take some time as it is likely to be at a very low speed (probably between 10 and 15mph, as mentioned in a previous post)). Also tested looping it at Dawlish Warren and can confirm it fits fine, however I'd be very wary of unnecessarily looping a Class 6 freight train as it'll take time to get back up to speed again and could then delay any trains behind it.

Once again back to a previous post to give you a clue about that one. The train arrives at Fairwater Yard as **** because it has entered at a location where the sim does not insert the TD. As a previous post has mentioned, when that happens, you have to manually insert the TD at the first available berth. The TD moving along the screens of the sim is so that the operator can keep track of what is happening. Under the bonnet, the sim is actually following 6V20 along its route, whether it shows as **** or 6V20 on the screen. You can check that by using f2. You won't see **** there but you will see 6V20. Whatever you have put onto the screen won't change the way that the underlying code handles 6V20.

Incidentally, in the real world, a train like 6V20 would probably reverse into Hackney Sidings when the road was given rather than sitting on the platform at Newton Abbot. You can replicate this in SimSig by going into f2 when the train is at Newton Abbot and editing the TT for the train. When you have the TT window showing, highlight the line below Newton Abbot (in this case Hackney Sidings), click on the Set Current/Next Location button and the sim will then move the train to that location forthwith.

I think i've sorted it, I think I went into f2 right clicked on the train and it reversed. then I cancelled it in the platform when the train went into Hackney Sidings, then I cancelled the route and looks like it's sorted.

Yeah It's sorted now. I sent the train forward to clear the TC then I set the route into Hackney Yard then reversed the train.

Thanks for all your help

One final note to close this down. Just going into f2 won't start the train into motion, so it may just have been coincidence that it started moving as you went into f2. Once you are in f2, you need to right-click on the headcode and the select the Timetable - Edit Timetable options. Then you find the next location in the TT, click on that to highlight it and then click on the Current/Next Location button. If the train has the road that will start it moving.

You can also use that trick if you put your Control hat on and decide to run a stopper straight through in order to make up time. Go into the TT as above and then select the next location at which you want the train to stop. Set that as the Current/Next Location and the train goes straight there, missing the intermediate stops.

Struck the same problem and found the discussion a bit confusing, though easy to understand once I figgered it out. Therefore posted a little walk-through here.

Exeter Summer 2006 v2.226. I think I indicated that on the Wiki page. However, I'll add the prefix "TT:" so as to leave no doubt.
