Okay... Just left Rotterdam for Amsterdam via the High Speed Line and I'm about to do a service round on my Fyra train when a small, 6 year old kid yells "mum, there he is, and you don't have a ticket"... To be honest... that sounds like music to my ears. Her friend "ah shit, boarded the wrong train"... "No worry, can I see your ticket please" I ask. And she show me a valid ticket to The Hague. "Right, just change at Schiphol Airport in 20 minutes, buy a new ticket from there and you'll be fine". (I'm not the hardest person on earth, and it's not her I'm after) So I turn to the lady with the small kid. "Boarded the wrong train as well"? I ask. "Yes, Got a ticket to The Hague" "No problem, If you show me you'll be fine just like your friend". She gives her student travel card and I check it... "No check in". "Yes but I have free student travel" "Only during school times and not during summer holiday" "She gives her passport and says "It was worth the try" "Yeah but this time you lost the game madam" That will be EUR 47,60 including the EUR 35 fine. At Schiphol Platform five or six. But at Schiphol airport they didn't alight from the train... "Are they really that stupid" my colleague asks. "I hope not for their wallets" I reply. And we had a look. There they were, loud chatting in their mobile phones in quiet coach with their feats on the sofa's. One, two... three complaints from other passengers who already asked the girls to move to another coach, but were shouted at. And gave us some other helpful information on what they both did on the train "Right, that's it"!!! "As you don't have valid tickets for this part of the journey, were asked to get off at Schiphol airport, and misbehave towards other passengers, that will be another ticket for both of you from Schiphol airport to Amsterdam. Quote: Another EUR 41,20 each. "You ass hole, don't expect me to give you my ID another time". "I'm not even gonna ask, I already know who you are from last time". "I'm sending my complaints to your boss tomorrow" "Please do so, he'll love the story. I'll do the same, as will my colleague. But please speak the truth otherwise it might have bigger effects for you then me".
