I've had the pleasure of playing SIMSIG for years, but have only just recently signed up. I don't usually need much help getting going, but please help me with this one. I've downloaded and installed the latest system code and tried to install the Brighton beta. All seemed well till I tried to run it, but it says ' no system files installed'. This can't be right as all the the other simulations run OK, both old and new. I'm running WIN XP. What have I missed please?

Thank you for prompt response. No joy though. I've tried it on 2 systems, one of which did not even see the Brighton SIM before upgrading to latest system files. I'll dig deeper into the WINDOWS mystery system.

Can you double-check the installation of the system files was successful by going to Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs and checking that "SimSig V223" or "SimSig V223.1" appears in the list.

First off, the age old standby of turning the system off then on did not work this time. 'Add remove programmes' shows V223.1 installed at 85mb. I've tried removing and re-installing to the default locations, and also to created SIMSIG folders in various combinations, but always when trying to open the Brighton sim or even now the Oxted sim, they both say can't find the system files. All my other 21 sims are running fine. Just where does the Brighton and Oxted sim expect to find the system files? Is this anything to do with the world moving on to Windows 7 etc. and I'm being left behind? Perhaps I'm destined never to go to the sunny south coast.

I don't think it is a case of the world moving on as you postulate. I'm still running XP and the Brighton and Oxted sims are working fine for me. Not much help I know but at least it rules out a possibility. Good luck in solving the puzzle as the Brighton sim won't disappoint !! (Can't comment on the Oxted sim as I've not played it)

Reason: remove implication that oxted sim would disappoint
