I always thought with the Kings Cross sim that it was not possible to turn back trains at Potters Bar from either the Down Fast or the Down Slow, however I'm currently playing Winter 2004 Saturday3 and decided to run a test train from Hornsey TSC to Hornsey TSC via Kings Cross and Potters Bar and to my surprise managed to terminate in the Down Slow and use the shunt signal to direct the train back to the Up Slow and onto Hornsey TSC.

Was this restriction just in the paged version of Kings Cross and if so has it always been available to use in the Scrolly version? which is the one I use.

Finally, does anyone know who the author is of the Winter 2004 Saturday3 timetable please as I might just look at actually working on it so the half hourly service to Potters Bar as in real life only goes as far as Potters Bar and not onto Welwyn Garden City.

If you mean "Kings Cross Winter Sat 2004 [Hertford Diversions]" then that was mine. Now you mention it I do recall that technically the trains should have turned at Potters Bar but at that time the shunt signals were missing. I can't recall when they were added but it was a while ago.

If it is mine then please feel free to do a correction.

Pardon for asking but how does one export a timetable into the WTR and WTT formats please? Bearing in mind I know absolutely nothing on how to do this!

It is possible to turn back at PB and New Barnet (which is used in my forthcoming 1955 ttable) however train idents do not see seem to auto transpose at New Barnet - bit of core programming missing I suppose.

Converting to txt you need Clive's Convdata tool. I'm not sure if the manual covers the fact that these days you can actually execute the conversion via the Import/Export function of the timetable options menu. Very user friendly provided you remember to check the extension name is correct.

ACI for each location has to be manually added as the author sees fit- in reality I doubt there is ACI on KX. Indeed as I recall the first release had no ACI and the (non-ARS) ACI code was first done for this Sim.

Can anyone confirm Peter's above statement? If so, I know this is asking a bit much and should really be in the Feature Wish List or something; but would it be possible to have the option to turn the ACI off at KingsX like (i think) you used to be able to in the Paged version? I seem to recall that the button was there on paged but was removed when Scrolly was released; or failing that an option on startup?

I know that with the issues facing the team at the moment this won't be high on the list of priorities but I feel it would be a nice re-addition to have if someone gets the time to do so.

I can confirm my own statement; the ACI switch facility is still there it's just that the switch was a "misuse" of ARS sub-area buttons. Core code changes now hide them if the Sim is not ARS enabled - see Edinburgh where different switches are available in different modes. This fact was overlooked at the time of the last KX release and the default is on.

It is on the "things to fix" list.

That would make KingsX very interesting in busy times with having to enter your own TDs. I look forward to that one
