I wonder if somebody could help re Stirling. I have added the Alloa timetable but i cannot get trains to go platform 6 or the bays 7 and 8, after Clayslaps trains only continue to platform 2 ..any help ta

Setting the route to Platform 6 involves clicking on the signal [Signal SM82] to the right-hand side of Clayslaps, then the signal [Signal SM47] just before Platform 6 then finally Signal SN18, which is the platform starter signal at the Down end of the platform. However, when you try setting the route to Platform 6 from Signal SM82, you may note the message window comes up with a message "Route not ready to release" - there is a 'time-out'(?) which means there is a timelimit for approaching that signal. I forget what the timelimit is but if you give it a couple of tries you may be able to work it out for yourself.

I'm not sure about Platforms 7 and 8 - it may be the case that there is not a valid route to them from the Down Perth line - i.e: you are only able to route an Empty Coaching Stock (ECS) train into these platforms from the shunt signals on the Up Perth.

That's correct in that operations. The signal protecting the south end of stirling station allows moves into platform 2 , 6 , 9 & 10. All except 2 are time released due to the curvature of the line plus i believe it's a 20mph psr there. As it was said , 7 & 8 are shunt signals so therefore a service train cannot be signalled in. Same applies for north bays 4 & 5 although in service trains can depart from those platforms. That's for departures south (7 & 8) and north (4 & 5)

I think the main issue with 7&8 is the lack of a facing point lock on the point between them.

The route into 6/9/10 is certainly quite contorted and may be 'adverse camber' too, so that explains the speed restriction.
