i imagine they might be for devs/testers only, judging by who was wearing them, but id be interested in a different styling being produced for us mere mortals?

also an idea, you could have a shirt done yourself at a printers, provided geoff gave permission.

The polo shirts were available to anyone who wanted one...and paid up.

As it seems to me that there is now a growing demand for the polo shirts, I'd like to make a suggestion.

Instead of as I believe it happened in the past where a bulk order was placed and polos shirts were purchased over time, first compile a specific bulk order for all the polo shirts sought (including desired size & colour) and go on from there. Perhaps charge a deposit, to go towards the end price, then the rest of the price later on when the polo shirt is ready for dispatch or just before it is physically handed over at a meet (there is one upcoming...). Sorted.

If anyone else is at least interested in a polo shirt then please follow the likes of others in this thread and express your interest!

There have been two batches of polo shirts, both sets open to anybody that wanted to buy one. As with any branded items, a minimum order quantity has to be fulfilled. AndyB knew somebody that was prepared to do a low enough order, something like 20-25 I think. On both occasions we had numbers in excess of that expressing an interest but when it came to actually handing over the money, the orders weren't there. For the second batch I ended up having to buy an additional 5 shirts on speculation that somebody would eventually buy them. A year later and they did eventually get sold, at cost price (not that the originals were sold for much more than a few pence above cost).

Now we have far more members so it ought to be easier fulfilling the minimum order... but the hassle factor? I should delegate but then it becomes an issue of finding somebody responsible and willing to do it. For the moment I've little interest in doing so - unless enough people reply to this thread with at least some intention of actually handing over money - something in the order of £14 per shirt including P&P to the UK IIRC; more if abroad.

Hi Geoff, I would definitely commit to an order and don't think I'd be alone judging by comments on here so far.

Happy to try and contact the supplier again. Although I'm not currently sure if she is still in the trade.

The minimum order was 25 and after initial interest faded we did struggle to reach that figure.

So as Geoff says it will depend on the number of people who:

a: express an interest
b: are prepared to follow the interest up with a firm order

Maybe at least take a deposit refundable if not enough after a given date?

I can set up the thing in the shop area.

If Andy establishes the facts of cost etc I can liaise with him over the best way forward in conjunction with Geoff who controls the bank.
