Having downloaded and played the Brighton beta sim on both single and multiplayer I find myself using the sticky notes a lot of the time. The problem is the sticky notes don't sync to other clients In multiplayer which when trying to help each other out can be annoying. Would it be possible to enable the syncing of sticky notes between all connected clients? Would be a great little feature!

What do you all think?

Just a personal thing but I'd hate to see others sticky notes.

Some people will be sticking all sorts of pointless notes all over the place.

For the way me and my friends play we use to label what trains should be joining etc, and especially for brighton to label what trains are where in the platforms.

But I do see your point about seeing someones annoying lables - would be relying on everyone not to spam with them.

Shared/private stickys has been on (Mantis) wish-list since May 2008, but in Geoff's pending list due to other priorities.
I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Maybe one day we will get time. I did do a search for sticky notes before posting but could not find any shared notes posts. Will keep my fingers crossed for a future system/sim update!

I'd like to see the ability to share selected sticky notes with others added at some point, but can totally understand it's not an urgent priority.

Could imagine it working like this;

Player A creates a sticky.
Right clicks on it, selects 'send to server' or 'send to workstation [x]' (where [x] is the workstation to receive it).
The server receives it and distributes it to all other players connected or receives it and distributes it to the selected workstation.

And hey presto.

Those who received it (either all connected players (or all 'active players' (those on a workstation at the time)) or the person on the specific workstation) can delete it themselves (which would just delete it from their view, rather than delete it from everyone's view) or also have the option of sending it to another workstation.

Ideally, there should be some kind of marker showing who created it. If the creating/sending of a sticky to others is limited to 'active players' (those on a workstation at the time) then perhaps it could just take their player name from workstation control and add it to the sticky in some way.

Would certainly have it's uses, but may need to be worked out carefully to minimise risks of seeing it being abused.
