On Sunday morning there's a Grand Central train runs from Wakefield Kirkgate towards London King's Cross. Does anyone know what route it takes to get to Doncaster?

Bradford Interchange
Halifax
Brighouse (for Huddersfield)
Wakefield Kirkgate
Pontefract Monkhill
Doncaster
London Kings Cross

is the calling pattern, don't have quail right now to give an exact route.

The morning service from Kirkgate (0848) to KX does not call at Pontefract. So, most likely as the journey time to Doncaster is only 20-odd minutes, it will run from Kirkgate > Crofton West Jn > Hare Pk Jn onto the main Leeds - Doncaster line. Open to corrections on this of course but the journey time is so short I can't see it going any other way.

The Sunday morning is an exception to the Askern route.
Also note the train does not call at Halifax, it is Bradford - (near Leeds) - Kirkgate. The Halifax times are buses.

But it is still going through Halifax, I think. By the way, the line from Kirkgate to the Leeds-Doncaster mainline to the south is a goods line on this map: http://www.bueker.net/trainspotting/map.php?file=maps/central-england-area/central-england-area.gif
