Just reading some info in the rail press today that this signalbox has closed and been demolished.

Yep, they're removing all of the mechanical signalling in the Blackpool area in preparation for electrification. According to TrackAtlas, it has been switched out for quite a while anyway. Shame about it being demolished though- old boxes are sometimes sent to heritage railways.
