Hello all,

I just seen that the East Coast WTT has been released for free from East Coast company, after someone requested it under the FOI act.

Link:

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/new_working_ecml_timetable_may_2#incoming-177389

Scroll down a bit to see the PDF files for all 7 days. Includes headcodes, power types and ECS moves, might be of use to any TT writers for Kings Cross or Peterborough...

Cheers,

James.

Depends what the FOI allows I guess?

I personally don't understand how it is top secret, It's not that different to a normal TT, but I guess as the public don't usually request it then the TOC won't go further and create a PDF WTT, but as EC seem to have one as a PDF document then it's not that hard to send one off...unless they complied it into a PDF themselves to send off?

This makes it confusing though, if under the FOI a TOC like EC can provide a WTT, then why does LU refuse to give out a WTT? I called TfL up for a request and said he can't send one as it is top secret, and mentioned that even he isn't allowed to view it....is that true??

Cheers,

James.

NR has pdf WTTs as do most TOCs. WTTs are general "private and not for publication" but i assume FOI in some way overules that at least for passenger timings

i assume we have a right to know what time our train is passing X junction etc

I thought I saw a posting in the shout box a while ago where someone claimed to have got a LU WTT.

There was an enquiry on the same site requesting an electronic copy of LUL working timetables under FOI which was refused. However TfL were willing to send the enquirer a hard copy of the working timetable for each LUL line by post. This offer was declined.

Yep, I have a box file full of LU timetables, makes for some interesting reading (or door stopping).

Depending on what you're after, some things are quite easy to get if you know where to look...

I can confirm LUL give out their WTTs by an FOI request.

Network Rail do not have to give out WTTs under an FOI as they are not technically a public company. The same goes for every TOC except DOR which, as owned by the government, have to give out WTTs under an FOI.

Just to save a whole load of time debating FOI on this thread it was discussed here previously.

Sorry Peter, I thought there was some thread.

I called LU only a few months ago, was recent, as I wanted a 2011 WTT for a LU signal sim on the Circle Line, but as I said he refused on the grounds that it is secret...maybe I should call again and mention the FOI and the fact TfL have posted them before?
