ive noticed that the signal prefixes at edingburgh change depending on duty ie rather than plain old "E" they are "EM" "EP" etc. is this realistic to the real box or something added in simming it.

also what is the purpose of it?

I think we discussed this before on the forum. They are real prefixes identifying the interlocking sub-areas- as per manual. From memory there were two sub-areas that were not independently plated but I can't immediately recall which the were; instead they are plated for an adjacent area.

It's not just Edinburgh; Aviemore PSB uses the same numbering approach.

Also:

Thornton & Redford both use 'ET', Charlestown & Townhill both use 'EO'.
