During the testing of the 85 tt noticed the following odd things some of which maybe known

If glencraig gf is released whilst the track circuit still illuminated then an exception error occurs on windows. the train came from thornton going up on the bidi down
The lengths of p20/21 are missing from the wiki however a long train can fit in the sls but not in either platform, in fact the length of train in the platform is very short in comparison to even p10.
Cockenzie PS gave a slot to a train which was in the up loop then proceeded to release a train towards the loop, this maybe possible but was unexpected
Trains are assuming the nll position is a platform, so if your going to p1 and you have to check the train at the signal then it assumes its arrived and the passengers are systematically killed falling onto the track

Hope these all make sense, im sure some if not all are known

Glencraig: Added a test or O/L dropped (equivalent to train arriving at GF)

P20/21 are both 295m but you do lose a few m as trains stop short by around 9m as I recall- I'll double check is all adds up.

                  Cockenzie has since been fixed

The NLL bit is a known issue that there was no easy solution to- may revisit to see if code code updates alter its operation.

While Peter is working out the code to fix for the Platform 1 problem, there is a fix which will work for most operational circumstances. The stopping point needs to be set as Edinburgh Waverley (East) rather than Edinburgh Waverley. You then see the train waiting at red signal if it is held at the South end of P19 or NLL.

If you do have to put the train into P10 or P20/21 because things are going belly-up, you then get a message about waiting at red signal at the South end of the platform, which you can work round by editing the TT in F2 without depositing passengers in the 6ft.

This won't help if you are putting the train into P1 when it should have gone to P10/19/20/21 or one of the North End terminators, but it may solve some of the problems.

Thanks for the replies been trying various solutions but whats been working best is reducing the use of that side of the station just a few trains has made all the difference as it provides some gaps so trains can be routed into the platform.

i am going to revisit the p20 again once i finish my test, as i was positive the train ended up being 245m to fit but i could be talking rubbish, i shall find out. I solved it be doing a far end +15 on the stop which means signalled through the platform where he stops and detatches a front portion.

You've not said what length you were originally trying but I've just tested (current build) and it appears trains are stopping short of the signal by 20m (not 9m as I'd thought) so a 275m train should fit OK.

It is possible that the lengths were wrong in the release version.

                  Peter

EDIT- gone back to 2009 data and no apparent anomalies in lengths found.

If it helps for a work-around, a train with a default 'far end' stop will stop 20m shy of the signal, but a 'far end exact' will force the train to within 1m of the signal.

Another way is to use 'near end', which should ensure the (rear of the) train fits in even if it has to get closer to the signal than the 20m 'viewing' distance.
