Hi All,
I have been asked a question and I cannot supply the answer.(I was at Woodford Halse MPD at the time and can remember it being done)
Banbury station was re-built in the late 50s, does anyone know who opened it when it was finished?
The person who wants to know thinks it was amember of the Royal family.
Any answers?

The Chiltern Line Driver's Eye View DVD from Video125 (which terminates at Banbury) says that the rebuilt station was opened by the Queen. I can't guarantee the accuracy of that, but I quote it for what it's worth!

The GC would be extremely useful in today's congestion and traffic jams. Not much forward thinking by the powers that be to shut most of it in the 60's
