I don't know if any one is aware (some of you will) about the scheme to electrify the midland main line from London to the the midlands I think possibly in to Nottingham. i wonder when they have completed it what will run on the line, will we get some EMU's or 91 or maybe any WCML loco's

what do you think?

I'd be interesting to see what Bombardier comes up with. so might they not go all the way to Nottingham (thinking also about the bridges at Nottingham station)

Excellent. More HSTs to be displaced if this goes ahead. Maybe XC could nab a few, would be a much better investment than the Voyagers.

You can keep all the HSTs on the Western for me, best place for them. Let's go back to Cl.45s plus rakes of 9 coaches back on the Midland mainline far better than all the rubbish running around today.
