this has just been added to facebook/youtube by the NRM. its nice to see the layout getting more well known by the month. its also its 100th birthday in january.

we demonstrate every 3rd saturday of the month (with the odd exception).myself, and a couple of other forum members are active volunteers (i was lucky enough to avoid the video) so if your planning a trip to york do pop in, we also have NRM central upstairs which is a full size lever frame simulator.

Regards
joe

It was at my signalling school at Manchester Victoria station when I was doing my track circuit conversion course way back in oct 89, unfortunately it wasn't working by then. Regards Darren.

:cheer: This brings back many happy memories as I trained to be a signalman on this layout, taking turns at each 'box' frame at Manchester Victoria School of Signalling before I was installed as Signalman at Woodhead Signal box. I and my fellow trainees had a great time with this layout and we even got to be the 'driver' sometimes too. And it was summertime as well so all in all a very happy six weeks for me back in 1978, the start of my great days as a signalman!
