Folks,

Perhaps you can assist. I'm trying to create this stretch of line in RailWorks, a rail simulation game. I have a gradient profile, and some decent terrain info for the area, but I wonder if there is anyone out there who is familiar with the area who might be able to help me with one or two questions? I haven't managed to track down a cabride for the section of line which doesn't help either

If you're looking for a cabride, you might want to check out 'Brighton Brush Farewell' from Locomaster. That covers Leamington to Coventry, although it may well not be every chain of the route.

Ok, so i've laid line out of Leamington and onto the single line section towards Kenilworth. We descend, then cross the River Avon viaduct, then ascend again. We come to the brow of a hill, then continue towards the A46 Kenilworth Bypass. Just before the Bypass I think the line crosses a valley, on the level. However my track doesn't seem to line up properly and is too high. I have checked the gradients and they are correct, do you know is there a large viaduct there? As my track crosses the valley it is elevated by quite a significant amount!

Do you know the source of any photos of the area? Or what the viaduct might be called so I can research it?

Off the top of my head I cannot remember exactly what the track is like down there. My old patch used to be Leamington but we ended at the 2 mile post near Hill Wootton, which is the Leamington side of the area you are referring to.

I did walk down there on a track circuit failure once, but that was back in 2004 and I cannot remember what the formation is like.

If nobody else here is able to help, I can ask a P-Way patrolman I know who will definitely be able to answer.

My ordnance survey map shows the line crosses the Cattle Brook approx 0.15 miles south of the A46 bypass bridge. The line is on the same embankment that leads up to the A46 bridge. Looking at Google earth there is a ~80 yard long bridge/viaduct, but it is in the middle of a wood so you can't get a good view of it.

I did this line in a DMU several years ago and was surprised by the Undulating nature of the line.

Regards,

Peter.
