There was a Parcels bay platform at Redhill (Surrey) that is now disused

Gareth
This bay (or the dead 508 siding as it was known to a certain train crew depot, have shunted many a failed 508 into this siding as a conductor in the good ol days) is still used over night to berth a class 455 for Southern.

Paul
Thanks Paul,

Luckily those 508s seemed to stay alive from London Bridge to East Croydon while I was on them! Disused wasn't the best word for me to use; I only meant (unclearly written though) that the Parcels depot at Redhill no longer operates rather than the line / siding / bay being OOU.

I assume you're all playing this TT with the up and down "loops" between Wantage Road and Challow blocked off, as they didn't exist in 1979. They were lifted in around 1965, as part of the removal of the four track layout between Swindon and Didcot. They were relaid in 1993 (I think), to provide somewhere to recess Didcot Power Station coal trains during busy periods.

The 1985 TT will also need the loops taken out of use, for maximum realism. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, so apologies if it has.

You may wish to distinguish 2A82 Westbury - Swindon and 2A82 Paddington - Oxford with a number after the HC as the sim always wants to display the Pad - Oxford timetable. For example 2A821 and 2A822 or something along those lines :)
Great TT so far
As far as I know, that doesn't actually solve the wrong-TT-display issue? I've had umpteen times where 0Z00-2 has decided to show 0Z00-1's timetable.

It does solve the issue as much as possible in Simsig. Basically, if you have multiple trains sharing the 4-character prefix, then:

  • if the train whose timetable you want to investigate is in the sim, you'll get its timetable by clicking a correctly inscribed berth or from stickies with its full headcode

  • if the train whose timetable you want to investigate is in the sim and none of the others are, you'll get its timetable by clicking a berth or sticky with a headcode starting with the same 4 characters

  • if none of those trains are in the sim, you'll get its timetable by clicking a correctly inscribed berth or from stickies with its full headcode

  • you can't get the timetable of a train that isn't in a sim if another train with the same 4 character prefix is in the sim

(except for sims like Sheffield and Trent in multiplayer where berths can only hold 4 characters, so you can't actually inscribe 2A821 - stickies work though)

On the other hand, when you have two trains having exactly the same headcode, you'll only get its timetable reliably if it's in the sim and the other one isn't (the second bullet).
