Hello all,

It would be appreciated if any locals or other people who know the operations around Cambridge well could assist me for my Cambridge August 2012 Timetable for SimSig.

One question I have related to Greater Anglia operations is:

1. Do GA have any Class 317's working to Cambridge nowadays on stoppers or Kings Lynn services, or are these all now Class 379s? Are Class 379s cleared for Kings Lynn?

I think I read the fast Cambridge services are booked for Class 379s? I assume these are paired unless there are any 12 car sets if they fit in platform 7/8?

Another question related to the depot:

2. What parts of Cambridge Carriage Sidings are used? I must admit I copied the 2009 timetable and sent all of them to sidings 3-5, however I sent one to Siding 6 from Cambridge station so it could work the next morning First Capital Connect ECS to Ely (sending it via the Arrival Line). I don't know if this would shunt from sidings 3-5 though.

Do some stable in sidings 7-8 too? Also where would XC's class 170's park up overnight?

Again, any help would be most appreciated! The last time I went to Cambridge, 379s didn't exist!

Cheers,

James.

Hi, I work at March East so I,m not terribly familar with Cambridge although I,m working through a 1985 Timetable so I,m up to speed with the working arrangements in those days. You are probably aware Cambridge has been extensively remodelled with an additional two Island platforms and the removal of the Goods Lines and the Freight Yard so any modern timetable will have to be modified to cater for the old track layout. Due to Power Retstrictions Kings Lynn Services are restricted to a Single 4 car unit which attaches/detaches a 2nd Unit at Cambridge for the Kings Cross Portion of the journey. I don,t know if any of these run as a 12 Car to/from Kings Cross. Outside of the Rush Hour they all call at Waterbeach and run non-stop to Kings Cross. Siding 6 used to be the Carriage Washer and Coldham Lane TMD BID the Fuel Point. So at some point the Class 170,s need to go onto the Fuel point. I,m not sure where they Stable overnight But I believe most of them atable in the Maintainance Shed. The ECS,s for Ely can stable in Sidings 3-5 but that would require a reversal on the Goods Line (which is included in this Sim). 7/8 are more Practical. EDIT. The Maintainance Shed I referred to is Coldham Lane TMD ARR/DEP Lines
