Using the paid version with the included 2006 WTT. 5A41-A has arrived from Craigentinny and changed to 5A41, which has called TRTS. However upon setting the route the train goes nowhere - and in the F2 view it shows as 'stopped at Niddrie West Jn'. Manually stepping it to Abbeyhill also causes it to remain in place, but stating 'stopped at Abbeyhill Jn'. So I abandoned the TT, allowed it to move and then re-attached the TT, again stepping it to Abbeyhill Jn. Now the train has stopped between Waverley and Calton tunnels, and once again is showing 'stopped at Niddrie West Jn'. It is not held at a signal. The direction of travel has also reversed, so when I forced it to shunt forwards it moved back into P1. Savefile attached with 5A41-A just arriving in P1.

Also, minor point but I selected the game mode with no ARS but with ACI - the 'Sim Status' above Waverley incorrectly shows ACI as being off.

There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

I'm also not getting TRTS on some trains. 1V41 didn't call TRTS from P10 at 0607 and some of the light loco moves from the Highland Sleeper simply stepped their location up without TRTS. 2G11 (16) 2K11 (14) and 1R03 (15) also failed to call TRTS

Incidentally I'm now having similar issues with CScot, with trains not calling TRTS at Queen St. Most do, but there are a few that don't and I can't figure out the reason why some do and some don't.

I now know what the circumstances are - it does not like the fact that it leaves and then arrives back at Edinburgh. It can be fixed by rewriting the timetable slightly.

Other than telling you you set ACI on at the start, but which you can then switch them on/off manually, it's a rather pointless report now I think about it.

Tested 1V41 and it called in as expected. Sleeper train is a law unto itself though I agree should TRTS but I don't recall not noticing TRTS during the extensive testing and retesting I did specifically of that train. At the risk of asking the obvious question, you have not preset the route have you?

Peter

[edit] 2G11-1 also TRTSs in test

Nope, no preset routes.

I've just tried running the 0600 snapshot again for 30 minutes just to confirm - trains depart as follows:
1E03 0600 P20 (called TRTS before load)
5P51 0603 P1 TRTS
2B01 0605 P14 TRTS
1V41 0607 P11 No Call
2G11 0619 P16 No Call (it simply moved up to the platform starter)
2K21 0624 P14 No Call (as above)
1R03 0630 P15 No Call
2P51 0633 P11 TRTS
2B03 0635 P19 No Call
1M51 0636 P20 TRTS

In cases where they don't call TRTS I will receive a phone call about them being held at the starter signal.

If it is of any use, I am using the 'bad weather' scenario, though I can't see it having an effect!

Ha - that's critical - are perchance all these trains more than 100m from the respective signal (as far as you can tell). The reason is possibly that the sighting distance is 100m in that scenario.

Looks like a Sim limitation.

I'll do some testing.

Yes that's it - I'll change the parameter.

Glad to have got to the bottom of it - for now I'll restart with a different scenario. This would probably be the issue affecting CSCOT as well in that case.
