Hello all I've recently upgraded to a Windows 7 laptop. Generally, SimSig works fine, however I've noticed a couple of minor problems. Firstly, although I can save games and re-open them while in the simulation, I can't view them when I open the simulation's folder (and yes, I do know about 'Use Public Documents' and they ain't there either!). Strangely, snapshots are unaffected. Also, I was messing around with the multiplayer client log function, but I can't find where this is saved to either. Finally, does anyone know if it's possible to disable the write protection on 'Program Files' sub-folders? I have the only user account on the machine but it still stops me saving things directly to these locations (excluding SimSig saves made in-game) "Don't stress/ relax/ let life roll off your backs./ Except for death and paying taxes/ everything in life.../ is only for now." As far as the program is concerned, Windows will pretend that everything is saved in one location, however if you have a look using Explorer, it shows only the files actually present in the program directory, and misses out the "redirected" files. What you'd need to do is right-click on the Simsig folder -> Properties -> Security and then give full write access to the Users group, though somebody with Vista or 7 could probably explain it a bit better if necessary. If you don't have write access, you should have a button in Windows Explorer in the Simsig directory which says something like "View Compatibility Files". Press that button and you should see them. Making it a convention to always save your games in your documents folder instead of the SimSig install location also works around this nicely, since you always have unrestricted write access there.

Thanks everyone, I've given myself full permission on the SimSig folder and everything now behaves as it should.
