Probably a question for Dabadaz.

Reading the Croydon sim discussion reminded me that a position light style signal has been installed at the London side of platform 4. As there is no onward route available (that I can see) I'm going to assume that it is a limit of shunt board.

Is this for shunt moves from the turnback to platform 4? Is this likely to get used often?

Just curious :cheer:

Looking at the drivers route plans, it should be a limit of shunt board.

Having investigated this a bit further, and as Copping suspects, it is indeed a limit of shunt board.

Trains can be routed from T1048 position light signal into platforms 3 and 4.

I can see how the route into platform 3 would be beneficial if, for whatever reason, there was no access to the turnback, but I'm not sure what the value of the route to platform 4 would be as, with no onward route available, it is effectively a dead end and any trains sent this way would block the only route to the down Wallington.

Hopefully Dabadaz might be able to shed some light on this?

T1044 shunt signal now just a "Limit of Shunt" London End of platform 4 used to allow access to a trailing down siding from the Down Wallington line, but that was removed way before my time. And as already mentioned it is also acts as an exit for the route from T1048. Although not from the T34 signal as route was not deemed necessary for the EEL project so no subsidiary signal was added to it.
